They are the best choice for those who want a low-maintenance, long-lasting pool. Compared to our other pool options, fiberglass pools offer a quickest installation and easiest maintenance, making it our most popular option.
At Bliss pools, we are an authorized provider and installer of Imagine Fiberglass Pools©. Every Imagine Pool is crafted with marine grade technology and Centurion Core™ Construction and backed with a Lifetime Structural Warranty.
The typical installation time is about 1-2 weeks depending on the plumbing and extras that are selected. Be aware, the permit from the municipality takes longer than this!
Fiberglass pools are extremely durable and there is no liner, so you never have to worry about puncturing the surface. Your pupper can even enjoy the pool with you!
Over the past 30 years, fiberglass inground pools have transformed from the basic bathtub design to many beautiful swimming pool designs with features that are now as much a work of art as they are a pool.
Advancements in the industry such as beautifully colored finishes and the installation of ceramic tile have resulted in exponential gains in market share over the past decade. Fiberglass pools continue to lead the market in pool installations.
Salt chlorinators have proven to be a low maintenance, high water quality option for pool owners. With no adverse effects on the fiberglass shell, you can enjoy the low maintenance benefits of salt with confidence that your pool will not be compromised. Additionally, there are UV technologies available that will reduce the amount of chemical usage overall.
It all has to do with surface porosity. The gelcoat surface of a fiberglass pool is virtually non porous. In contrast, the surface of a concrete pool is extremely rough and porous. Rough cavities, pores and wrinkles in the liners give algae a place to hide and call home. In addition, chemical usage in concrete pools is much higher because of the need to penetrate the pool surface to kill algae.
Fiberglass pools are inert and do not affect water chemistry in any way. As a fiberglass pool owner, you will spend more time in it and less time maintaining it.
In ground swimming pools vary greatly in size, style, design and of course price. It’s similar to asking how much does a car cost; what model, what kind of extras are we talking, is it a luxury vehicle, etc.
For a small to medium sized fiberglass pool, you should plan on a starting price between $60-90k for a standard swimming package, installed and ready to swim. Additional features such as spillovers, heaters, automation, larger size, landscaping and final finishes all add to the price.
The one major disadvantage of fiberglass inground pools is that you can’t change the shape, size, or depth of the pool… So the question then becomes, can you find a fiberglass pool model that you are happy with from the wide variety that are available?
We’ve found that about 90% of people do find a fiberglass pool that perfectly meets their needs. However, if you need a pool that’s 10 feet deep or an ultra-customized shape, a concrete pool may be the best fit for you.
